Newfoundland and Labrador Council Registration Information Package
Welcome to the 2004-2005 Scouting season!
Scouts Canada is pleased to provide the Council Information Package in both printed formats, and also available for download via this website. This package is intended to assist you in registering your group. Included in the package is a document entitled "Registration Information 2004-05", which outlines the registration and screeing process.
Groups are encouraged to register their youth and adult members on the on-line Membership Management System (MMS). Your Group Registrar should have the Access Code for your group to enter the MMS database. If not, your code can be obtained by calling the Council Office at (709) 722-0931, or e-mail nfldlabrador@scouts.ca.
IMPORTANT: Scouts Canada requires that members be registered on the MMS as active" prior to taking part in any scouting activity after September 1, 2004. Scouts Canada's insurance coverage will be in force once members are listed as "active" on the MMS registration system. Group Registrars can begin registering their members any time directly on line through the Scouts Canada website at www.scouts.ca.
Also included with the package are "pre-populated" youth and adult registration application forms generated from the 2003-04 MMS that you may use for registering returing members. Parents and adult volunteers can correct the information, sign the firms, and return them to the Group Registrar. These forms contain a Bar Code, which will facilitate entering data at the Registration Procesing Centre. Extra blank forms are also included in the package.
Please note that the Section Registration Form used in previous years has been discontinued and will not be accepted.
NEW THIS YEAR - All registration forms must now be mailed to the National Registration Processing Center at the following address:
